Privacy Policy

Effective May 4, 2019

Entrepreneurs are not able to find the resources they need to launch and grow. Universities struggle with how to support affiliated entrepreneurial ventures. Alumni can not find the education, leadership, and financial growth opportunities they seek. The Kindred Project (the “Site”) was inspired by the potential to be the trusted framework for early-stage entrepreneurs and university-alumni alike as they seek to implement their participation in our free-market economy. This Privacy Policy outlines our commitment to safeguarding the privacy of our Site’s users (“Participant”), as well as to define the type of information we will collect, and how it will be used.

In the spirit of self-reliance, The Kindred Project partners with organizations to provide a resourcing framework for university-affiliated entrepreneurs. To do so, The Kindred Project may provide stakeholders with information based on Participant interactions with our Site, validated surveys administered to small businesses; our surveys are attribute-rich, with questions pertaining not simply to financial histories which many small businesses lack but also questions that are forward looking and interrogate the fundamentals of a business. The Kindred Project may make survey results available. Such results should not be construed as investment advice. The Kindred Project may also provide stakeholders with information on publications, or teachings, or on commercial offerings seen on our Site.

The Site will not collect personal information about a Participant for the intent of a background check; however, the Site may collect personal information that is relevant to their role in their business.

Information that is personal to the Participant (“Personal Information”) may include information about how Participant interacts with the Site, information relating to any transactions between Participant and the Site, information relating to Participant’s registration on the Site, or information that a Participant does not want made available to the general public.

Information that is private to the Site (“Private Information”) may include information provided by Participant that is stripped of all means to identify the source of the information (“De-identified Information”). Examples of De-identified Information include information provided by Participant in response to questions posed by Site that are relevant only to their interactions with the Site, or Deidentified Information that a Participant does not wish to be made available to the general public.
Information that is not private (“Public Information”) may include De-identified Information provided by Participant that Participant wishes to make available to the general public.

All information provided by Participants will be used by the Site for internal purposes. Personal Information will not be shared with the general public; however, Private Information may be shared with the general public when de-identified for example in the form of a communication, a graph, or as part of a statistical analysis. Public information may be shared with the general public for example in the form of a research paper published in a scientific journal, or in communications with a collaborator.
